A Wish Gone Cold

Her foot slips from a stone into the water. She must get to the stream’s end before turning back into a mermaid. She thought that being human would be a beautiful experience.

But it’s not so. It’s dark and her heart pounds as she rushes down the stream’s edge. Mermaids don’t take much note of the cold. As a human it’s biting at her. Finally emerging from the forest to find the ocean, she stares at the moon looking for the inspiration it once brought her.

But It’s just…

Cold.

  1. Very immersive read – thanks for sharing! 😀
If you like, I was going to link to your blog for my next Award as a way of hopefully connecting different bloggers together. No need to do the personal quiz if you’d prefer not to, but would you like your blog signposted for new readers to check out?

      1. Fantastic! That’s really kind of you, I would be very excited to get an honorary mention! 😀 Would you prefer a nomination in my next Mystery Blogger Award, as a way of linking new bloggers together? (I’m still figuring out who’d like to actually participate in this, as only a few people have said yes). How does that sound?
